Lets make predictions!

June 6, 2012

Hello NFL Lovers,

Recently in the NFL there are no major news stories. The only thing to look forward to at this point in football is for  Week 1 of  the NFL to start. So I decided to go over all eight divisions in the National Football League, and make predictions for the division winners.

So lets take a look at the AFC West Division. This division is pretty interesting. Because, it has three very talented quarterbacks in the division. Former four time NFL MVP is the best in the division. Followed by Phillip Rivers of the Chargers, and then Carson Palmer of the Raiders. Some say Carson Palmer is past his prime, but I think he will surprise a lot of people in the league. The Kansas City Chiefs are a young, and dangerous team. But, without a start quarterback they will go no where. The Kansas City Chiefs will finish no better than fourth, especially since they have to rely on Matt Cassel. They will finish the season with a 6-10 record. The Oakland Raiders will be a surprise team, but firing head coach Hue Jackson was a mistake. They finish the season at 8-8. The San Diego Chargers will have a comeback season. Expect Phillip Rivers to have a MVP type of season, and help lead the Chargers to a 9-7 record, and just miss the playoffs. The Chargers will have to clean house(removing general manager A.J. Smith, and Norv Turner from the head coaching position). The Denver Broncos will win their division, led by four time MVP Peyton Manning. Peyton Manning will get the Broncos deep into the playoffs. The Broncos will finish the season with a 11-5 record.

Moving on to the AFC East Division. The Miami Dolphins will continue their struggle. The Dolphins will finish the season at 4-12, and finish last in the division. The New York Jets will continue their decline, early in the season. The season will lead the Jets to some controversy, since the Jets will replace starting quarterback Mark Sanchez, in favor of Tim Tebow. The move will not help the Jets season much, since they will miss the playoffs for the second consecutive season. The Buffalo Bills will shock the NFL. The teams offense will have a top-15 season, while the defense will play like a top 10 defense, thanks to the addition of defensive end, Mario Williams. The Bills will enter the playoffs with a 10-6 record. The New England Patriots will continue their dominance. They will win the division, and end the season with a 12-4 record.

The AFC North is the toughest division in football. The Cleveland Browns will continue to be awful. They will finish the season as a 3-13 football team. The Cincinnati Bengals surprise the football world last season. But, Andy Dalton will go through the sophmore slump. They will miss the playoffs barely, with a 9-7 record.  The Pittsburgh Steelers will finish second in the division, with an impressive 11-5 record. The Baltimore Ravens will be the best football team in the AFC conference. The Ravens will finish the season at a 13-3 record.

The AFC South will showcase the number one pick of the 2012 NFL Draft. Andrew Luck will see the difficulty of the National Football League. Andrew Luck will lead the Colts to a four win season, and finish dead last in the division. The Jacksonville Jaguars will have a very impressive defense. But, the offense will make strides. The Jaguars will finish the season at 6-10. The Tennessee Titans will play great football, but will finish the season at 8-8. Look for the Titans to start Jake Locker toward the end of the season. The Houston Texans will be a dangerous team. They will finish the season at a 12-4 record, and be the number two seed in the AFC.

Moving onto the NFC West division. This will be the worst division in football. The Arizona Cardinals will finish the season at 3-13. They will struggle, since they do not have a good quarterback. The St. Louis Rams will improve with head coach Jeff Fisher. They will finish the season at 5-11. The Seattle Seahawks will play really hard, for head coach Pete Carroll. But, they will finish the season at 8-8. The 49ers shocked the football world last season. The 49ers will finish first in the weak NFC West division, with a 10-6 record.

Moving onto the toughest division, the NFC North. This division hosts the best quarterbacks in any division with MVP Aaron Rogers, Matthew Stafford, and Jay Cutler. This will be the most exciting division in football. The Minnesota Vikings will finish the season with a 3-13 record. The Vikings need to bring talent to the defense. They should trade Jared Allen for some draft picks. The Detroit Lions impressed everyone in the league, last season. But, last season was a fluke. The Lions will barely miss the playoffs at a 9-7 record. The Packers are favored to win the division, but I see them as a solid team. The defense will lead them to their doom. They finish with a 11-5 record. The Chicago Bears will be the best team in football. The additions of Brandon Marshall, and the return of Jay Cutler will make the Bears a scary team. They will finish the season with a 13-3 record.

The NFC South has exciting young quarterbacks. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will finish the season at a 5-11 record. The Carolina Panthers will be an exciting team. Cam Newton will lead the Panthers to a 8-8 record, and finish third in the division. The New Orleans Saints will struggle. The Saints went through too much controversy in the off season. Drew Brees will lead the Saints to an 8-8 record. The Atlanta Falcons will win the NFC South. Matt Ryan leads the Falcons to a 11-5 record.

The NFC East will be an exciting division. The Super Bowl winning New York Giants, will have a poor record. Expect the Giants to finish with a 7-9 record. The Washington Redskins will make strides with Robert Griffin III. RG3 will lead them to a 8-8 record. The Philidelphia Eagles will have a great season. They will finish with a 12-4 record, and be the second seed in the NFC conference.

This is the off season. We can make decisions all we want. I may look really intelligent after the season, however I could look really dumb. That is the game with predictions. Post comments, and tell me what teams will be division winners.

Trouble in the Lions Den

May 29, 2012

Hello World,

Trouble is brewing in the Lions Den. The Detroit Lions are in a heap of trouble. The Lions organization cannot get a break from their football players. They are just a simply undisciplined football team. They are having a negative image across the National Football League. Lets take a look at the choices the Lions players have done over the year.

Defensive tackle Nick Fairley was arrested on May 27, 2012 early Sunday morning. He was arrested in his hometown of  Alabama, for driving under the influence, and attempting to elude police. He was also cited for reckless driving, having an open container of alcohol, and for having no proof of insurance. He was also clocked in for speeding one hundred miles per hour in his Cadillac Escalade. He was also arrested on April 3, 2012, in his hometown of Mobile, Alabama, on a misdemeanor marijuana possession charge. The most disturbing part of Nick Fairley’s incident with the law, it is that it has been less than two months for his first run in with the law.

Nick Fairley, Mug Shot

Nick Fairley needs to get his act around quickly. Most likely he will have to face a two-four game suspension from the NFL commissioner, Roger Goodell. The Lions are relying on Nick Fairley’s contribution on the upcoming season. If he does not get his act around, he might be out of a job. He was a standout at Auburn University. Arguably, the most important player on the Auburn Tigers football team. He was a first round pick in the 2011 NFL draft, by the Detroit Lions. He won the award for best defensive tackle in college football. He also helped Auburn win the national title.

Running Back Mikel Leshoure was cited twice for marijuana possession. While he was pulled over, he was caught with marijuana in his mouth in the state of Michigan. He will most likely be suspended by the league for a multiple of games. He was a second round pick by the Detroit Lions in the 2011 NFL draft. He was suppose to compete for the starting running back position. Also, offensive lineman Johnny Culbreath was cited for marijuana possession.

Wide receiver Titus Young has been punished by the Detroit Lions. Titus Young did not break any laws, but he did punch teammate, Louis Delma during practice. He has been told by the Lions, that he is no longer allowed to participate at the Lions facility. The Lions have not set a time frame for the suspension given to Titus Young. Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press writes, “By all accounts, he was apathetic when coaches weren’t involved in workouts early this offseason, something that didn’t sit well with Lions veterans,” Birkett writes. “It’s unclear if he’ll be back this spring and how his petulance will be received once he returns, but he has the potential to be a dangerous No. 2 receiver.” Young needs to get his act together quickly. Because, receivers are traded all the time. Most top receivers are traded, as in the case of Brandon Marshall, Randy Moss, Terrell Owens, etc. Titus Young was a star receiver at Boise State University, and was selected in the second round by the Detroit Lions in the 2011 draft.

The Lions 2011 NFL draft was seen as the best draft that year. Because, all the players were very talented. Now, it is starting to appear that they are falling fast. The Lions organization needs to get a handle on the team. They are coming from their first playoff game, since over a decade. If they have any aspirations of playing in the postseason again, they must have a disciplined team.

New life in Chicago

May 24, 2012

Jay Cutler is feeling good about his team, after having a great session during OTA’s

Hello World,

Have you been too preoccupied with the NBA playoffs? Just saw the Lakers go down in five games. Witness the San Antonio Spurs start the NBA playoffs with first and second round sweeps over the Utah Jazz, and the LA Clippers. How about National Hockey League? Are you watching the Los Angeles Kings surprise the entire league. By advancing all the way to the Stanley Cup Finals. Well one place can careless about both sports. Heck, they can careless about their two professional baseball teams. The fans of Chicago are just buzzing over the Chicago Bears. Fans of Chicago are just waiting for the football season to start. Media in Chicago are all over the Bears. Local radio sports news station are skipping other sports and just going straight to the Bears. Even ESPN Chicago cannot help themselves from talking about the Bears.

There is just a surreal buzz going on in Bears camp. The Chicago Bears have not received so much coverage over Organized Team Activities, since the 1985 Chicago Bears. The 1985 Bears went on to win the Super Bowl. People in Chicago are expecting nothing less than a Super Bowl. After starting last season with a 7-3 record with quarterback Jay Cutler, people were thinking that the Bears were Super Bowl bound. National media outlets were selecting them as the dark horse to win the Super Bowl. But, after picking up their seventh win of the season, Chicago Bears quarterback breaks his thumb. With that injury the Bears season went down. That injury left the city of Chicago feeling cursed, and it did not help when their Bulls most valuable player Derrick Rose tore his ACL. It just made it worst.

Now the Chicago Bears are feeling confident, as well as the fans of Chicago. Why? Because, the Bears knew they were a great team with Jay Cutler as their starting quarterback. But, the biggest weakness of the Chicago Bears was their wide receiver corps, and their offensive line.  The Bears have fixed it. They made a weakness into a huge strength. With the off season addition of All-Pro 6-5 230 pound wide receiver Brandon Marshall, and the selection of Alshon Jeffery has arguably made the Bears host the best receiving corps in the National Football League. In addition, the signing of running back Michael Bush, has made the Bears have the best running back combo in the league.

Their are skeptics from the Media. Many NFL analyst claim that the Bears are awful on the offensive line. But, Bears management disagrees. New general manager Phil Emery defends the Bears offensive line with four points. The first point Emery argues is the different direction of the offensive philosophy they have among the coaching staff. By firing Mike Martz they have eliminated a lot of deep passes. Jay Cutler has permission to change plays at the scrimmage line, and they have erased many of the complex plays from the playbook. The second point is the addition of Brandon Marshall well create less defensive players in the box. They will be forced to double teams Brandon Marshall at times. He will help spread the field. The third point is that the Bears are getting two former first round picks back to the offensive line. It brings instant talent to the line. The last point is that the Bears “horrible” offensive line had helped the team rush for over two thousand yards. Which is an impressive feat.

People are discussing the topic of which quarterback will have a better year, Jay Cutler, or Peyton Manning. Some analyst from ESPN are expecting Jay Cutler to have a monster year. Which is shocking since many analyst have criticized Jay Cutler, no more than former super bowl winning quarterback, Trent Dilfer. Trent Dilfer said on NFL Live that Jay Cutler is going to have a monster year. Mike Greenberg, and Mike Golic believes that Jay Cutler is going to have an amazing season. Scott Van Pelt was on “Waddle and Silvy,” and he believes that Jay Cutler will have a better year than Peyton Manning. Even the local media in Chicago that has spoken so badly of Jay Cutler, have came around and realized how important he is. Bucky Brooks wrote an article on NFL.com, and stated that Jay Cutler is the most important player coming back from injury. Read the article at this link.

People are thinking Super Bowl for the Chicago Bears, mainly because of the acquisition of two great receivers in Brandon Marshall, and rookie wide receiver Alshon Jeffery. Because, everyone in Chicago are aware of the great defense it has. They have a top ten defense with stalwarts such as Julius Peppers, Lance Briggs, Charles Tillman, and the heart of the defense Brian Urlacher. They also have the best special teams in the National Football League. They have the greatest return man in Devin Hester, and Robbie Gold who is one of the most accurate kickers in NFL history. Now, everyone in Chicago knows that they have a talented offense. This is arguable the most talented team, Lovie Smith has ever had while coaching in Chicago. More talented than the 2006 Bears team that reached the Super Bowl. Their offense consist of Jay Cutler, Matt Forte, Brandon Marshall, Alshon Jeffery, and backup running back Michael Bush.

Brandon Marshall explains the atmosphere in Bears camp as, “I definitely feel the sense of urgency around here, I understand the passion, and that’s the type of fans I want to be around. So hopefully, we give them something to cheer for.”

The Bears are clearly very talented. But, the football world are not completely convinced. Because, they view the Chicago Bears as being just in a tough division. They are in a division where the Green Bay Packers, and Detroit Lions are in. But, I still expect the Bears to win the division, and to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl. Skip Bayless believes that the Bears will win their division. The Bears are going bowling this upcoming season. Even Barack Obama is throwing the football around at Soldier Field.

Vilma set to sue NFL commissioner Roger Goodell

May 19, 2012

Vilma (on the right), set to take on NFL commissioner Roger Goodell (on the left).

Hello World,

Those of you who are National Football League fans are aware of the predicament of the New Orleans Saints franchise. They have been investigated by the National Football League, for being part of “bounty gate.” What is “bounty gate?” The NFL describes why the Saints are charged with bounty gate. The NFL said that the New Orleans Saints defensive team operated a pay for performance program, also known as bounty gate. This program was mainly funded by players, and former defensive coordinator Greg Williams, from 2009-2011.  Under the program, players from the New Orleans Saints put money into a pool, and rewarded players for making good plays, and penalized players for bad plays. Players were also rewarded for injuring certain players, particularly at the quarterback position. It is speculated that bounties were placed on quarterback Brett Favre, Kurt Warner, Cam Newton, and Aaron Rodgers. However, the National Football League does not have any solid evidences for players putting money into a pool, and forming the alleged bounty program.

Once the National Football League decided to convey to the public that the New Orleans Saints participated in bounty gate, they would have to penalize the Saints organization. NFL commissioner Roger Goodell handed out a severe punishment to the New Orleans Saints, and got the attention of the entire league. He fined the league maximum of five hundred thousand to the Saints, and docked two second round picks. He suspended New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton for the entire 2012 football season, general manager Mickey Loomis for eight games, interim head coach Joe Vitt for six games, and former Saints defensive coordinator Greg Williams is banned from the National Football League. After fining the organization, and suspending the coaching staff, Roger Goodell promised to suspend certain players involved in the bounty program. He suspended four players involved in the bounty program. Roger Goodell handed out a three game suspension to Scott Fujita without pay. four game suspension to Will Smith (not the actor, the defensive end on the Saints) without pay, eight game suspension to Anthony Hargrove without pay, and a year long suspension to Johnathan Vilma without pay. Many people around the league views the punishment to be to severe. However, others thought that it was fair. Because, it would discourage others around the league from participating in a bounty program.

New Orleans Saints football player Johnathan Vilma was not happy with the suspension. Upon hearing the suspension, Johnathan Vilma addressees the suspension by making a statement, “I intend to fight this injustice, to defend my reputation, to stand up for my team and my profession, and to send a clear signal to the commissioner that the process has failed, to the detriment of me, my teammates, the New Orleans Saints and the game.” After weeks had gone by with the suspension being handed out, Johnathan Vilma is fighting the National Football League as he has promised. He hired an attorney outside of the National Football League Player Association, and is suing NFL commissioner Roger Goodell for slander and defamation. He has file a sixteen page lawsuit against Roger Goodell. Claiming that Goodell had intentions of malice, and was seeking to ruin Johnathan Vilma. Johnathan Vilma is seeking unspecified damages against the National Football League. Some views this as being a long shot.

Johnathan Vilma’s attorney released a message regarding the lawsuit being filed, “Commissioner Goodell opted to enter into the public arena rather than proceed appropriately and deliberately within the confines of the NFL process,” Vilma’s attorney, Peter Ginsberg told NFL.com. “In doing that, he made a series of horrific and false accusations about Jonathan. The commissioner, having wandered into the public arena, is now being asked to answer for the damage he’s done in making those erroneous accusations. He made some serious accusations, which we will be able to prove in a fair forum, that were irresponsible.”

The New Orleans Saints had no comments for Johnathan Vilma’s decision to sue NFL commissioner Roger Goodell. Johnathan Vilma issued a statement over twitter, “Maybe this will get some people’s attention,” and “As I’ve said before I’VE NEVER PAID OR INTENDED TO PAY ANY AMOUNT OF MONEY TO ANY PLAYER FOR INTENTIONALLY HURTING AN OPPONENT.” The NFL addressed a statement on the impending lawsuit they are facing, “We have not yet reviewed the filing. However, our commitment to player safety and the integrity of the game is our main consideration. We recognize that not everyone will agree with decisions that need to be made.”

The lawsuit Johnathan Vilma has filed against Roger Goodell has created a buzz around current NFL players. Click this link too see NFL players thought on this lawsuit. Johnathan Vilma is standing up for himself, and is trying to clear his name. Although he was docked an entire year salary. Vilma is more upset at the NFL for preventing him from participating in football games. Also, Johnathan Vilma understands that he will forever be remembered with bounty gate, and unfairly not remembered for his achievements on the football field. He was the defensive rookie of the year in 2004, named to the pro bowl five times, and is a Superbowl champion.

Fair or not Johnathan Vilma will forever be linked to bounty gate. I think that the NFL commissioner Roger Goodell was too harsh with the punishments he gave out. One thing for suspending coaches, and fining an organization is one thing. But, bringing malice towards NFL players and preventing them from making a legal living is wrong. Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker James Harrison seems to agree with me. He even tweeted that the National Football League was so harsh, because of the lawsuits they face from ex players for player safety. I hope Johnathan Vilma wins his lawsuit against Roger Goodell. What do you think? Was the punishment by Roger Goodell too harsh, just right, or too lenient? What do you expect the Johnathan Vilma’s lawsuit will head towards? Do you think he will win, since the NFL has no hard evidence? Place your answers by commenting on them.

Memorial held for star football player

May 12, 2012

Fans appreciating Junior Seau, by attending memorial at Qualcom Stadium

Hello world,

On May 11, 2012, there was public memorial held in San Diego, California. The memorial was held for legendary linebacker Junior Seau. The public memorial was held at Qualcom Stadium, and was attended by more than twenty thousand fans. In attendance were fans who donned Junior Seau jerseys. The jerseys worn were from all the collegiate and professional sports teams Junior Seaus played for during his time  in College Football, and the National Football League. The fans wore Junior Seau jerseys from his playing days at  the University of Southern California, the San Diego Chargers, the Miami Dolphins, and the New England Patriots. Even his cousin made a custom jersey of all the professional teams he played for during his time in the National Football League. Among the people in attendance were his former teammates in start running back LaDainian Tomilson, Dan Fouts, former San Diego Chargers coach Bobby Ross, San Diego Chargers owner Dean Spanos, and former division rivals in John Elway from the Denver Broncos. Also Peyton Manning, and San Diego native John Lynch were in attendance.

During the memorial, San Diego Chargers Owner made it official, and announce the retirement of Junior Seau’s number 55 jersey being retired. Only two Chargers jersey were retired, in the franchises history of football. The two jerseys retired other than Junior Seau, were quarterback Dan Fouts, and Lance Alsworth. Both players wore the number nineteen, so only two numbers are retired in Chargers history.

Junior Seau took his life away on the second of May, 2012. It was shocking news, since Junior Seau always had such an upbeat personality. He seemed to always be so happy, and just loving life. Especially since he comes from a Samoan ethnic background. He was known for his catch phrase “buddy.” People close with Junior Seau, always mentioned how he used to say the word buddy to everyone. Even strangers in San Diego recalls him mentioning the word buddy to them. He just made everyone feel like they were friends. Even I have a story of Junior Seau. I was with my older cousin at a nice restaurant. It was a normal day, and out of no where we see Junior Seau walking into the restaurant. I told my cousin, “Look, it’s Junior Seau.” My cousin noticed, and tried to make it seem like it was no big deal. And my cousin looks at me, and say’s “watch this.” I notice my cousin shout out towards Junior Seau, and told Junior, “Aye yo Junior, whats up. Its Ehsan.” And then Junior flashes this huge smile and told my cousin, “What’s up. How’s it going buddy.” And that was it. My cousin came back towards me with the biggest grin. Before, my cousin could say anything. I asked, “Did he call you buddy? Junior tells everyone buddy. So please just sit down.” That was the coolest part of Junior. He was a great man on the field, but a way better man off the field. If you ask anyone who had an encounter with Junior Seau, most of the times they will say the touching experience they had with Junior Seau. Here are players reaction to Junior Seau’s death.

Tiaina Baul Seau Jr. (Junior Seau) was born January 19, 1969, in San Diego, California, the fifth child of  Tiaina Seau, Sr, and Luisa Mauga Seau. He lived a humble life in Oceanside, California. His brothers and Junior shared the garage as a bedroom. He later attended Oceanside high school, and lettered in three sports. He lettered in football, basketball, and track and field. After high school, he attended the University of Southern California, and played football for three years. After entering the National Football League draft, he desperately wanted his hometown team(San Diego Chargers) to draft him with the fifth overall pick in the 1990 draft. Junior Seau dream came true. He was selected with the fifth overall pick.

His career in the National Football League was absolutely stellar. He played in a impressive twenty years of professional football. Quite impressive, since the National Football League career average for a player is three and a half years. And if you look at rookies entering the league, then the average is six years according to the NFL commissioner Roger Goodell. Still quite impressive for all the years played in the NFL. Junior Seau was named to twelve consecutive pro bowls,  was an all-pro(best players in the NFL at respective position) eight times, part of the NFL 1990s all decade team, and posted a staggering one thousand eight hundred and forty-nine tackles, fifty-six and a half sacks, and eighteen interceptions in his career.

Junior Seau was heavily involved in his hometown community. He started the Junior Seau Foundation, during the early 1990s. His foundation have helped needed families in San Diego, helped develop recreational centers for youth, scholarships, and many more. He is beloved in San Diego California, since he was a hometown hero. He did everything for San Diego, through his playing days in high school, to his thirteen stellar years with the San Diego Chargers, and most of all through his effort in San Diego. Junior Seau will be remembered in San Diego.

NFL Draft Live Coverage of the 1st Round (17-32)

April 27, 2012

Andrew Luck selected as the number one pick of the 2012 NFL draft

Hello World,

Continuing on to the NFL Draft of the 1st round.

The Cincinnati Bengals selects Dre Kirkpatrick with the seventeenth(acquired  from Oakland in the Carson Palmer trade) overall pick. He is the third rated corner back in the NFL draft. He is coming out of the University of Alabama.

The San Diego Chargers selects Melvin Ingram with the eighteenth overall pick. Melvin Ingram is a top ten talent in the NFL draft playing defensive end. The San Diego Chargers gets an outstanding player in Ingram, and receives a gift by having him fall at eighteenth. Melvin Ingram is coming out of the University of South Carolina.

The Chicago Bears selects Shea McClellin with the nineteenth overall pick. I am surprised with this pick. Because, the Bears had major needs at Defensive End, and at the offensive line. I suppose the Bears wants to start preparing to replace their star  line bakers, or add to it. Fun fact about Shea McClellin is that he helps at his families farm. Shea McClellin is coming out of Boise State University.

The Tennessee Titans selects Kendall Wright with the twentith overall pick. He is an elite talent at wide receiver. Some scouts fears that he may become a failure in the NFL. He is coming out of  Baylor University.

The New England Patriots trades away their first and third round pick to the Cincinnati Bengals and their first round pick. New England moves up six spots with this trade.

The New England Patriots selects Chandler Jones with the twenty-first overall pick. He is one of the top defensive players in the draft. And some analyst claims (Jon Gruden), that he will be the best player in the draft. Chandler Jones brother currently plays defensive tackle for the Baltimore Ravens. Chandler Jones is coming out of the University of Syracuse.

The Cleveland Browns selects Brandon Weeden with the twenty-second overall pick (pick acquired from Atlanta Falcons). He is a very old quarterback coming out of college at the age of 28 years. He is coming out of Oklahoma State University.

The Detroit Lions selects Riley Reiff with the twenty-third overall pick. He is the number two rated offensive tackle in the NFL draft.  The Lions gotta an absolute steal, since he was rated a top ten talent. He is coming out of the University of Iowa.

The Pittsburgh Steelers selects David Decastro with the twenty-fourth overall pick. He is the best offensive guard in the NFL draft. He is coming out of Stanford University.

The New England Patriots trades their 31st overall pick, and a fourth round pick to the Denver Broncos and their 25th overall pick.

The New England Patriots selects Dont’a Hightower with the twenty-fifth overall pick. He is an outstanding linebacker, and is coming out of the University of Alabama.

The Houston Texans selects Whitney Mercilus with the twenty-sixth overall pick. He led the NCAA with sixteen sacks as a defensive end. He is coming out of the University of Illinois.

The Cincinnati Bengals selects Kevin Zeitler with the twenty-seventh overall pick. He plays on the offensive line at the guard position. He is coming out of the University of Wisconsin.

The Green Bay Packers selects Nick Perry with twenty-eighth overall pick. He is an athletic defensive end coming out of the University of Southern California.

The Minnesota Vikings trades their second and fourth round pick to the Baltimore Ravens. In return they receive Baltimore Ravens twenty-ninth overall pick.

The Minnesota Vikings selects Harrison Smith with the twenty-nine overall pick. He is the number two rated safety in the NFL Draft. He is coming out of Notre Dame University.

The San Francisco 49ers selects A.J. Jenkins with the thirtieth overall pick. He is coming out of the University of Illinois.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers trades their second and fourth round pick to the Denver Broncos, for their 1st round pick (31st overall).

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers selects Doug Martin with the thirty-first overall pick. He is a running back coming out of Boise State University.

The New York Giants selects David Wilson with thirty-second(last pick from 1st round) overall pick. He is a running back with blazing speed, coming out of Virginia Tech.

It has been an incredible first round. I think New England Patriots are the winner of the first round. Because, they have added pieces to their defense (needs a lot of improving).

NFL Draft Live Coverage of the 1st Round (1-16)

April 27, 2012

Hello World,

It is April 26, 2012, and tonight is the NFL Draft. The NFL draft starts at 8pm eastern time. The NFL Draft will be completed in a three day span. The first round will take place on Thursday. The second and third round will take place on Friday, and round four through seven will finish on Saturday. Each team are given seven draft choices. The NFL teams can trade some of their draft picks if they chose to do, or even trade future picks.

The Colts have the first overall pick, and they have selected Andrew Luck from Stanford University. He was the number one rated quarter back coming out of college. He received the Maxwell Award (best quarterback in college) in 2011. Even his father was a quarterback in the NFL, so it is assume that Andrew Luck has it in his genes to play quarterback in the NFL. He is also known for his intelligence, after all will finish his bachelor’s degree at STANFORD UNIVERSITY.

Andrew Luck, number one pick of the 2012 NFL draft

The Washington Redskins have the second overall pick, and have selected Robert Griffin III aka, RG3. He shocked the college world, and won the prestigious NCAA Heisman trophy (Known as the best college football player). He was discussed to be potentially the best player in the draft. He has a strong arm(can throw the ball far, and fast), and is incredibly fast. He ran the forty yard dash at a 4.41(super fast, too fast for a quarterback) at the NFL combine. He will have to deal with a lot of pressure, since the Washington Redskins gave up three first round picks, and a second rounder to the St. Louis Rams for the second pick overall. Robert Griffin III is coming out of Baylor University.

The Minnesota traded away their third pick overall to the Cleveland Browns for the fourth pick, a 4th round, and 7th round pick in the NFL draft.

The Cleveland Browns selects Trent Richardson with the third overall pick. He was the best running back in the NFL draft, and has been compared to Adrian Peterson, from a skill standpoint. Trent Richardson is coming out of the University of Alabama.

The Minnesota Vikings selects Offensive tackle Matt Kalil, with the fourth overall pick. He had an impressive NFL combine, and is known for his athleticism. However, there are questions regarding his physical strength. In large part he was drafted in order to protect Minnesota Vikings last years first round pick in Christian Ponder. Matt Kalil is coming out of the University of Southern California.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have traded away their fifth overall pick, to the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Buccaneers will receive Jacksonville’s  seventh pick overall, and a fourth round draft pick.

The Jacksonville Jaguars selects Justin Blackmon with the fifth overall pick. Justin Blackmon is coming out of Oklahoma State University.

The St, Louis Rams traded away their sixth pick overall to the Dallas Cowboys. The Rams will receive the Dallas Cowboys first round, and second round draft pick.

The Dallas Cowboys selects Morris Claiborne with the sixth overall pick. The Cowboys makes an impressive draft trade, and gets arguably the fourth best player in the NFL draft. Morris Claireborne is coming out of Louisiana State University.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers selects Mark Barron with the seventh pick overall. He was the highest rated Safety in the NFL draft. Mark Barron is coming out of the University of Alabama.

The Miami Dolphins selects Ryan Tannehill with the eighth overall pick. He is only a two year starter as a quarterback in college football. He was  formerly a receiver, but converted to quarterback. Which clearly demonstrates the speed of Ryan Tannehill. He is coming out of  Texas A & M University.

The Carolina Panthers selects Luke Kuechly with the ninth overall pick. He has the most tackles in the history of the NCAA. He is coming out of Boston College. Mel Kiper compares him to Brian Urlacher(top linebacker for the last decade).

The Buffalo Bills selects Stephon Gilmore with the tenth overall pick. The Bills were able to get the second best corner back in the NFL draft. He is a tremendous athlete, with a lot of size (6’0 and a half). He is coming out of the University of South Carolina.

The Kansas City Cheifs selects Dontari Poe with the eleventh overall pick. He has incredible outside, and plays as a defensive tackle. He is coming out of the University of Memphis.

The Philadelphia Eagles trades their fifteenth overall pick, 4th round pick, and 6th round pick to the Seattle Seahawks. The Seahawks gives up their twelve overall pick.

The Philadelphia Eagles selects Fletcher Cox with the twelve overall pick. Fletcher Cox has top ten talent, and is coming out of Mississippi State University.

The Arizona Cardinals selects Michael Floyd with the thirteenth overall pick. He is a star wide receiver from Notre Dame University. He is the second rated wide receiver in the NFL draft. He is faster, and bigger than the number one rated wide receiver in the NFL Draft (Justin Blackmon). The Arizona Cardinals may have been pressured to draft Michael Floyd, since their team captain publicly wanted the Cardinals to draft Michael Floyd.

The St. Louis Rams selects Michael Brockers with the fourteenth overall pick. He is a defensive tackle that reminds Jeff Fisher of Albert Hanesworth. He is coming out of Louisiana State University.

The Seattle Seahawks selects Bruce Irvin with the fifteenth overall pick. The Seahawks are reaching big time with this pick. There were way better Defensive Ends than Bruce Irvin. They Could have picked the number one rated Defensive End in Melvin Ingram or Quinton Coples. Bruce Irvin is coming out of West Virginia University.

The New York Jets selects Quinton Coples with the sixteenth overall pick. He is often compared the all pro Julius Peppers. He has all the athletic tools, and size in the world. However, the cause for Coples to drop to sixteenth pick is solely for his poor work ethic. Quinton Coples is coming out of the University of North Carolina.

Week 5-Week 7 predictions of Prime time games in NFL

April 26, 2012

All 32 teams of the NFL

Hello World,

Moving onto week 5. The Arizona Cardinals will be traveling to play against the St, Louis Rams. Both play in the same division, the NFC West. The Cardinals are coming off a disappointing season. While the Rams are being led by a new head coach, in Jeff Fisher. Expect the Rams to win a close game at home on Thursday Night.

The San Diego Chargers are traveling east to play against the chaotic franchise in the New Orleans Saints at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. The Chargers are coming off a down year, as well as their star quarterback Phillip Rivers. But, the Saints are dealing with a mess. The NFL took away two second round NFL draft picks. Suspended head coach Sean Payton for a year, interim head coach Joe Vitt for six game, and their general manger for eight games. Expect the Saints to have a dreadful season. The Chargers will blow this game out on Sunday night.

The Houston Texans will play the New York Jets in New York (technically New Jersey). Expect, Tim Tebow will start his first game of the season. Tim Tebow continues to do the unbelievable. He will lead the Jets to victory in a close game against the Texans on Monday night.

Week 6

The Pittsburgh Steelers will play against the Titans in Tennessee on Thursday night football. The Steelers will win this game in a close game.

The Green Bay Packers will play away from Lambeau stadium, and travel to play against the Houston Texans on Sunday night football. Both teams are coming off playoff appearances. I like the Houston Texans to upset the Green Bay Packers. The X-factor in this game, is the Houston Texans stadium. After all, having a loud crowd will bother Aaron Rodgers in some way.

The Denver Broncos led by 4 time Most Valuable Player Peyton Manning will travel to Qualcomm stadium, and take on division rival, the San Diego “Super” Chargers on Monday Night Football. This game will be very exciting. Because, everyone loves good quarterback play. The showdown between Peyton Manning, and Phillip Rivers. I expect a high scoring game. Peyton Manning has a 1-4 record against Phillip Rivers. Yeah, believe it. I expect both quarterbacks to have a great year, but do not expect a Peyton Manning victory against the Chargers anytime soon. I expect Phillip Rivers and the Chargers to continue to give Peyton Manning problems. Chargers win in a tight game.

Week 7

Seattle Seahawks plays the San Francisco 49ers at Candlestick Park. Look for the San Francisco 49ers to win in a blowout fashion against the Seahawks on Thursday night football.

On Sunday night the Steelers plays their division rival Cincinnati Bengals. I expect the Steelers to win big in this game. Expect the Bengals to miss the playoffs. Because, Andy Dalton will go through the typical sophomore slump.

The Detroit Lions travel on Monday Night Football to Soldier Field to take on the Chicago Bears . This is the game of the week. Two young quarterbacks entering their prime. Matthew Stafford vs. Jay Cutler, and Brandon Marshall vs. Calvin Johnson. These two teams dislike each other, where a fight broke out. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PeGUrodle38 This will be an exciting game, where the Bears will have an explosive offense. Look for the bears to dominate this game.

Tomorrow, I will be going over the NFL Draft Live.

NFL Star Player Retires

April 24, 2012

Brian Dawkins while on the Eagles

Hello world,

Usually, when a star sports star decides to retire. He will schedule a press conference, and announce his retirement. For example, Junior Seau announce his retirement at a press conference. Brett Favre announce his retirement from the Packers (although he came out of retirement), Kurt Warner announce his retirement from the National Football League at a press conference. But, Brian Patrick Dawkins did not schedule a press conference to declare his retirement from the National Football League. He was the first football player to announce his retirement from the NFL, via twitter. Maybe Brian Dawkins was not that great of a football player. However, being selected to nine pro bowls, selected as a 4 time all-pro, part of the National Football League all decades team (00s), and a member of the Philadelphia Eagles 75th Anniversary team. Brian Dawkins spent 16 years in the National Football League. He played thirteen amazing years with the Philadelphia Eagles, and his final three years in the league, he played with the Denver Broncos. He signed with the Denver Broncos, during the failed tenure of Josh McDaniels. McDaniels is viewed as the person who hurt the Denver Broncos with the moves he made, during his tenure. Some of the horrible move, was trading a young 25 year old pro bowl quarterback in Jay Cutler, trading all pro wide receiver Brandon Marshall, and trading Peyton Hillis. However, the one move that better the Denver Broncos was the role he played in acquiring Brian Dawkins.

Brian Dawkins will go down as one the greatest players to ever play in the NFL. He played as a free safety, and at times a strong safety. He had a great career in college at Clemson University, and an amazing career in the National Football League. Enjoy retirement Brian or “Dawk!”

Continuing Prime time games in the NFL/ and making predictions

April 20, 2012

All 32 teams of the NFL

Hello World,

Are you ready for some Football!!! Now continuing from the Week two schedule of prime time games.

We have the Detroit Lions on Sunday Night traveling a long distance to the San Francisco 49ers. This will be emotional game. After all, last season the 49ers led by their head coach Jim Harbaugh, came into Detroit and stole a victory. However, he did not leave Detroit, Michigan without creating an enemy in Jim Schwartz. As you can see from this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y0lZOm15Cvc&feature=related that this will be quite an emotional game. I expect the 49ers to defend their home turf, and soundly beat the Detroit Lions. Because, I think the Lions will be exhausted from their west coast trip.

Then on Monday Night we have the Peyton Manning led Denver Broncos heading to Atlanta taking on the Falcons at the Georgia Dome. Matt Ryan is nearly unbeatable playing in Atlanta. As ESPN reports that he has posted a 25-4 record at the Georgia dome. However, he has never faced Peyton Manning, and he already has one loss at home against the Denver Broncos, thanks to former Bronco Jay Cutler pulling a comeback, and leading the Broncos to victory. Expect the same thing. Peyton Manning will lead the Broncos late in the 4th quarter.

Okay now we can move on to Week three of the NFL.

The G-men New York Giants will be playing at the Carolina Panthers home stadium. This will be quite an exciting game. The young Cam Newton, who has a big arm, and is really athletic versus two time super bowl winning quarterback Eli Manning. Expect a close game, where Eli Manning takes care of business, and pulls off the victory on Thursday Night Football.

Then we have on Sunday Night a rematch of the AFC championship game being played. Where the New England Patriots will travel from Gillette stadium, and play the Baltimore Ravens. Don’t expect the Ravens to lose this game, after all Lee Evans will not be on the Ravens to drop a critical pass. Ravens takes this game at home.

Then we have on Monday Night Football, the Green Bay Packers led by star quarterback Aaron Rodgers taking on his former backup quarterback Matt Flynn and the Seattle Seahawks. Folks, this game will not be close at all. The Green Bay Packers blows out the Seattle Seahawks in Seattle, Washington.

Moving on to week four

It will be the Cleveland Browns traveling to their division rival, the Baltimore Ravens. Yes, the Ravens are playing back to back Prime time games. Don’t expect anything new, expect the Browns to lose in a blowout fashion. Ravens takes the game on Thursday night football.

The Giants are traveling to the brotherly love city, where the home team is the Philadelphia Eagles. This is one of the most exciting games being hosted on Sunday Night Football. Two division rivals, going at it. Tony Romo vs. Michael Vick. I expect Michael Vick to have a huge game, where he passes for over three hundred yards, and rushes for over a hundred yards, and score five total touch downs. Michael Vick averaged 286 yards passing and two touchdowns a game, and also swept the Dallas Cowboys (According to ESPN stats).

The game of the week is The Chicago Bears playing the Dallas Cowboys at their 1.2 billion dollar stadium. Expect an explosive offense displayed by the Bears. Jay Cutler with Brandon Marshall will torch the problematic secondary of the Cowboys. Chicago Bears and the Dallas Cowboys will display a fantastic game, and have all football fans talking about it on Tuesday. Chicago Bears wins by a field goal in Dallas.
